This one-on-one third grade math assessment was created for you to use throughout the school year to keep track of your students’ progress on core 3rd grade math skills. This was created to help you keep track of how your students are performing on the most important 3rd grade math standards. This is designed to be a one-on-one assessment for teachers to complete with students.
This third grade assessment is divided into four sections:
- Place value, addition, & subtraction
- Multiplication & Division
- Other skills (geometry, money, time)
This will help you truly evaluate your students’ mathematical knowledge. To not overwhelm your students, you can also split this up by sections or skills. Breaking this into chunks will give you much more flexibility.
To make this as easy to use as possible, there are small assessment cards for you to use with each skill. Print them on thick paper/cardstock, hole-punch the corner, and add a binder ring. You will also want to have a set of 18-20 manipulatives and a small whiteboard & marker or scratch paper for students to use!
- Math Skills Student Score Sheet/Checklist
- Class spreadsheets to organize whole class data
- Assessment cards to help you assess each skill
- Optional student response recording sheet (for teacher use)
- Editable score sheets & class spreadsheets you can customize
Because every school & district is different, there is an editable math checklist. You can use it to type in your own skills & standards that you want to assess.
>> However, you will need to create your own matching assessment cards if you choose to do that.
This is different from the 3rd Grade Beginning of the Year Math Snapshot!
>>The beginning of the year 3rd grade math snapshot was created to use during back to school time. It covers skills & standards students learned in second grade so that you can become familiar with the math skills students are coming into your classroom with!
